Clippers Blazin’ A New Path?

The Los Angeles Clippers decided to get into this trading business. Marcus Camby has been traded to Portland for Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw.
Marcus Camby was the hardest worker in a Clippers uniform. Granted, the Clippers don't seem to try as hard as they should but he's the heart and soul of that team. twelve boards and two blocks a game for a guy that's turning 36 in a month is not too shabby at all. I mean, to be honest, I don't really think they need to tamper with this team; they just need more time together. but I suppose if Steve Blake does well in this audition, they can have a better back-up point guard for Baron Davis next year as they are clearly looking towards the 2010-11 season. As for the Travis Outlaw acquisition? I think it pretty much signals the end of Al Thornton's tenure as Rasual Butler has clearly been better than Thornton this season. So I think the Clippers are not done dealing. I'd be surprised if they don't make any more moves. Stay tuned. what do Outlaw and Blake bring to the Clippers? From what I've seen, Travis Outlaw can score in bunches. I can't say he's better than Al Thornton but Thornton seems to have fallen out of favor for the Clippers. if Thornton goes (I expect him to be shipped), Outlaw will take his spot and the Clips will see what he can do in that position. Steve Blake would be an upgrade, in my opinion, over Sebastian Telfair. Blake provides better outside shooting and grittiness than Bassy. The Clippers would be in better shape on the PG position if they come in with Blake as the back-up. but let's try not to get ahead of ourselves here because both of these guys are free agents this summer. It's obvious what Marcus Camby brings to the Blazer fold: they need a big guy. Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla were supposed to provide that inside presence but they've been both hurt so they've been giving paint time to Juwan Howard. Juwan Howard. Yeah, that's all I need to say.
