LaLa Vasquez took over Vibe.com today and made it her own. She went into grave details about her bridemaids, Melo’s diva demands for the wedding, her BFF’s Ciara and Kelly Rowland then and also shares her thoughts on them catty a$$ chicks on VH1′s Basketball Wives.

Who’s your best friend in the industry?Kelly Rowland and Ciara. I’ve known both of them the longest. I’m also very close with Trina, I’m close with Solange. There’s quite a bit.

Will any of them be your Maid of Honor?They’ll all be at my wedding. My Maid of Honor is my cousin, Dice, who grew up with me in the same house. We’ve been through everything.

What about bridesmaids?We’re not having any bridesmaids. We’re having a kind of non-traditional wedding. We’re just keep it simple with one maid of honor and one best man. Nothing we’ve done thus far has been traditional.

Will you be having an intimate wedding or huge?It’s going to be [a] huge [wedding] in New York. July, some time. it wasn’t my decision, it was Melo’s.

Are there certain requests both of you must have for the wedding?He’s that guy, I’m not that person, I’m pretty simple. he wants red involved in some way and he wants red velvet cake. That’s his I-have-to-have. No one can tell me differently.

Come August, will we be calling you La La Anthony?I haven’t decided yet. I’ve been talking to my circle about it, but I don’t know yet. Vazquez-Anthony is so long. I really need to think about that and figure it out. I think I’m going to use both because people know me as La La Vazquez. I don’t want to ditch it completely. I’ll probably keep both.

What are your thoughts on the show Basketball Wives?I think it’s great entertainment and it’s great for Shaunie O’Neal. She had asked me to participate, but it’s just not something for the direction I’m going. But I think it’s a great show, people are glued to the TV.

Would you ever produce a show like that?Probably not. that show is not who I am. I’m not trying to base my life as a basketball wife. I’m trying to base my life on things outside my relationship as far as my acting, my producing, branding myself. it wouldn’t fit into what I’m trying to do. But what it did for them is amazing.

What advice do you have to celebrity couples to make their relationship work? Maintain your own and be the person that the other person fell in love with. I thin we have a tendency to settle in our relationships and lose our drive. But you have to stay the person you were that attracted you to that person. have a life outside that relationship

LAS VEGAS — Today was different. The commute from the Gold Coast to the Amazon Room in the Rio isn’t far. Five minutes in the Vegas heat to cut through a parking garage and walk across the street to the Rio. Then another 10 minutes to walk from the Rio sportsbook to the Amazon Room, which contains the main playing area for the World Series of Poker Main Event.

on Monday and Tuesday, the morning commutes were the same. The desert heat was bearable — even comfortable. The casino floor was quiet. and it was a long, lonely walk from the casino floor to the WSOP Main Event. and in the Amazon Room, the Day 1A (Monday) and Day 1B (Tuesday) fields were small — 1,125 on Monday and 1,489 on Tuesday — and studious. But today was different. for the first time in this Main Event, the Las Vegas heat was stifling. and when I entered the Rio at 10:45 a.m., the din from the gambling floor was so loud I could barely have a conversation. there were people at the slots. there were people at the tables. Everybody seemed excited. The long hallway connecting the Rio casino floor to the convention space that houses the World Series of Poker was crowded. and the Sao Paulo Cafe, located halfway between the casino floor and the Amazon Room, was packed. there really is no culinary — or economic — reason for the Sao Paulo Cafe to be crowded. The food is mediocre and overpriced. there are better places to eat in the Rio. yet the line to get in ran 15 deep, and every table was full. Today was different. I cut through the Pavilion this morning, which is the secondary poker room at the WSOP. although calling the Pavilion secondary is a bit unfair. It’s like calling the Pacific Ocean secondary. The Pavilion is a 55,488 square-foot room. The Amazon Room has 39,060 square feet. Both are filled to the brim with poker tables. But the Amazon Room is the traditional home of the WSOP. and this is the first year the WSOP is using the Pavilion — so secondary it is. About half the tables in the Pavilion today were set aside for today’s Main Event action, so the expected field size had to be big. Today was different. Players were already wandering through the Pavilion as I made my way to the other side of the room and the exit closest to the Amazon Room. One player in the Pavilion was already feeling the pressure despite the fact that play wasn’t scheduled to begin for at least another hour. Or maybe he was just a jerk. “I’m not going to go inside the ropes, but is it all right if I see where I’m going to play?” the player asked a security guard. “Yes, as long as you don’t enter the ropes,” the security guard said. “I just said I wasn’t going in the ropes,” said the player, raising his voice. “Learn to respond to the customer.”

“I said it was OK as long as you didn’t enter the ropes,” the security guard said. “I know,” yelled the player. “And I told you I wasn’t going to enter the ropes.” The obnoxious player then tried to humiliate the guard. “I’m not going to go inside the ropes, but is it all right if I see where I’m going to play?” the player asked loudly, not once but twice. “Yes, as long as you don’t enter the ropes,” the security guard responded. “Fucking moron,” yelled the player as he stomped off to inspect his table from afar. Yep. Today was different. After my encounter with the disturbed player, I exited the Pavilion and headed down the hall to the Amazon Room. The hall, which had been virtually empty at 11 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, was filled with players and fans alike. Conversations had to be loud, just so the person you were talking to could be heard. Fans were excited. Players were nervous. there was a buzz that hadn’t been felt on previous days. it was almost as if someone remembered to turn the electricity on at the Main Event today. When the doors to the Amazon Room — and the ropes in the Pavilion — opened for players just before noon, 2,313 Main Event hopefuls filled more than 230 poker tables across two of the biggest rooms in Las Vegas. Not only was the 2,313-player field the largest Day One yet, it was also a star-studded affair. Two-time champion Johnny Chan, defending champion Joe Cada, Hoyt Corkins, Annie Duke, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Chau Giang, Jeff Madsen, Tom McEvoy, Robert Mizrachi, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Ngyuen, Mike Sexton, David Williams and Dennis Green were all in action. So were Howard Lederer, Sammy Farha, Patrik Antonious, Daniel Alaei, Amnon Filipi, Adam Levy, Liz Lieu, Kathy Liebert, Evelyn Ng, Men “The Master” Ngyuen, Shanna Moakler and Huck Seed. and that’s not even the complete list of notables! Phil Hellmuth played today as well. But he wasn’t in his seat to start the day (OK, so that part of today wasn’t different). Instead, he chose to continue his tradition of grand costumed entrances with scantily clad women. in 2007, Hellmuth entered dressed up as a NASCAR driver. in 2008, he came in dressed as Gen. George Patton. last year he was Julius Caesar. and this year he came in dressed as a UFC fighter, complete with ring girls holding up 11 WSOP “championship belts” — one for each bracelet he’s won. I missed Hellmuth’s grand entrance “pre-game” show, where he stood outside on a flatbed truck with a video board behind him and women dancing around him. Casino City’s Dan Igo has the full report on that. But I did witness him walking into the Amazon Room with a robe on. and I was really glad to see he was wearing a shirt underneath the robe. Hellmuth’s 2010 WSOP Main Event run didn’t last long. He started playing around 2 p.m. and he was eliminated just over seven hours later, when his pocket jacks were beaten by pocket queens that turned into a flush. Spectators were stacked two deep on the rail to watch Hellmuth play throughout the day. But Hellmuth didn’t have the biggest fan following at the Main Event. that honor belonged to Tom “Durrrr” Dwan. Dwan began the day in the Pavilion, with a table right by the rail where fans could — and did — jockey for position, lean into the tournament area and otherwise crowd the table in an effort to get a better look at the high-stakes poker phenom at work. and with the many journalists (guilty), photographers (guilty) and ESPN cameras following his every move, it was a pretty frenzied atmosphere. Durrrr was later moved to the Amazon Room, and he busted out just before play ended for the night. for more on Dwan’s day, check out Dan Igo’s Day 1C notebook.

Phillips began his day in the Pavilion as well. But because of Durrrr mania, I didn’t catch the beginning of his day. After he was moved into the Amazon Room, I caught up with him and he told me about his roller-coaster day. “I was down to 15,000 a little while ago,” Phillips said. “But I’m back up to 34,000 now. in the other room I flopped the nut-flush draw five times and didn’t hit it once. it was check, check, fold, check, check, fold. I couldn’t believe it.” I had left Phillips to wander around the tournament floor for a while when I ran into two players, sitting next to each other, getting a massage. Two players receiving a massage at a poker table isn’t unusual. But one of these players was a woman. and I had never seen seen a woman receiving a chair massage at a WSOP table before. what really made this scene unusual, however, was the nature of the massages. A woman was massaging the man, and it looked like she was doing it really gently — squeezing his neck here and there and gently working his arms. A man was massaging the woman, and the massage he was giving was so vigorous that the petite player could barely stay on her chair at the table. and in the middle of being thrown around on her chair, the female player managed to win a pot. Unbelievable. After watching the massages for a few minutes, I headed back to the Pavilion to check out Chan and found the former Main Event champ in control of his table. every time he entered a pot, he won. if Chan raised, players folded. if Chan called, players knew they were beat. Chan could do whatever he wanted to, and he knew it. He ended up with 163,700 at the end of the night. at the end of the night, I checked in on Phillips again, and things were not looking good. He had just lost 5,000 in a hand where he had pocket 10s. His opponent had pushed all-in with a flush draw, and Phillips folded. “I didn’t have the guts to call him,” Phillips told me. But with about 8,000 in chips remaining, Phillips knows he doesn’t have many options left. “Peter Eastgate was down to 6,000 before making a deep run last year,” Phillips said. “I need to get some cards. I can tell you that if I get pocket 10s again soon, they won’t end up in the muck.” while Phillips managed to survive the day, several well-known players did not. Seed, Dario Minieri, Jerry Yang, Chad Brown, Chau Giang, Madsen, Billy Gazes and Moakler all joined Hellmuth on the rail.

As the anticipated heavyweight clash between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin draws near, there are some other intriguing matchups that are sure to keep the heat going beyond summertime.

UFC 118—B.J Penn vs. Frankie Edgar

The UFC Lightweight championship will be on the line in a rematch pitting the former champion B.J Penn against the newly crowned titleholder, rising star Frankie Edgar.  these two lightweight competitors last met in the octagon at UFC 112 where we saw Edgar beat Penn via unanimous decision, a bout some fans saw as controversial. Certainly this did not look like the same B.J Penn who dominated Diego Sanchez and Kenny Florian and Edgar took advantage of the opportunity. Edgar out struck Penn on the feet and surprisingly took him down twice.

Frankie Edgar will look to go into this bout proving that his win at UFC 112 was not a fluke, while B.J Penn will see to it that Edgar’s title reign is a short one and place the title back around his waist.

Nevertheless, the rematch has been set and both fighters will look to make a stand in the 155 lb division.

UFC 121—Vitor Belfort vs. winner of Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen

UFC middleweight contender Vitor Belfort will step back inside the octagon following an injury that forced him to pull out of a middleweight title bout with middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva. Belfort will be looking to go 2-0 in his recent stint in UFC after his deposed of Rich Franklin a year prior in a catch weight bout at UFC 103.

However, Chael Sonnen will be an interesting test for the Brazilian. Silva has never fought a wrestler like Sonnen, who takes down his opponents at will and adds instant pressure and aggression once he’s in their guard.

Assuming Silva gets past Sonnen, Belfort vs. Silva will indeed be a match up fight fans crave to see. for one, this could be Silva’s last fight at middleweight, as he’ll have cleaned out the entire division and ascend to the UFC’s light-heavyweight class where more fascinating fights potentially await the Curitiba native.

Secondly, Belfort will be the last legitimate threat to Silva’s middleweight title. the Brazilian holds incredible knockout power, which will put any fighter to the canvas, and throws lightning-fast combinations that catches his opponents off guard.

Whether Silva reigns atop the 185 lb division or if Belfort can dethrone the champion remains to be seen. regardless, at UFC 121 we could witness the end of an era.

UFC 121—Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson

This is a match-up Pride fans surely have been dreaming of. According to MMAFrenzy.com, both fighters have reportedly verbally agreed to face each other at UFC 121, although no official bout has been announced. a win for either fighter would add a win to their resumes and it would certainly propel them into the 205 lb title mix.

Nogueira is currently riding a two-fight win streak over the likes of Luiz Cane and Jason Brillz. ‘Lil Nog’ is well-rounded fighter and displays strong boxing skills—definitely a fighter who wouldn’t mind to stand and trade with Jackson.

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is coming off a disappointing loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 114. it was the first time Jackson entered the octagon in 16 months. Following the bout, Jackson blamed ring rust as a cause for the loss and wanted to fight again as soon as he could.

This would be the bout that could motivate Jackson to come back and pick up the win. last time he disappointed UFC fans—’Rampage’ quickly won them over again after he knocked out rival Wanderlei Silva at UFC 92.

However, should Jackson lose to Nogueira at UFC 121, blaming it on ring rust will not be accepted by UFC fans this time around.

UFC 122—Josh Koscheck vs. Georges St-Pierre

It seems only fitting to put one of the biggest fights of the year on the last card of the year. This bout will take place following the new season of the Ultimate Fighter and it will feature a rematch between the two coaches, St-Pierre and Koscheck. they first squared off at UFC 74.

Koscheck is coming into this fight full of confidence, rounding off three straight wins.  the four-time NCAA Division one wrestler will look to be avenging his loss to St-Pierre, occurring three years ago.

The champion, St-Pierre, has run through UFC Welterweight division knocking off seven straight victories in dominating fashion. Like Anderson Silva, St-Pierre is only a few wins away from cleaning out his division. MMA fans are asking for a super-fight between Silva and St-Pierre, the two top-pound for pound fighters in the world, likely to take place at a catch weight bout.

Noise for the highly anticipated bout only seems to be getting louder, but in order for it to happen St-Pierre can’t look any further than Josh Koscheck at UFC 122.

Our regular reviews are like entrees. This recurring feature is like the sampler plate. 

There are literally more movies already made than there exists time to watch them. That’s even true – in some ways more so - if you’re insomniac and rely on movies to help lull you to sleep. Movie channels, especially our favorites Turner Classic Movies and Fox Movie Channel, show films virtually around the clock, all year long. most of their programming is worth watching, too, and a good chunk of it is, for us anyway, pretty much irresistable. 

The happy consequence of all this plenty is that we also see more movies than we have time to write about. This recurring feature offers smaller-sized reviews and commentary on films we saw that, for one reason another, didn’t get a full blog posting. The opinions are our own, of course. they may differ from yours. That’s okay. 

Journey into Fear (1943) - One of the lesser-known efforts from Orson Welles’ Mercury Theatre collaborators, this espionage drama casts Joseph Cotten as an American advisor to the Turkish Navy marked for death by a Nazi spy (Eustace Wyatt) and his henchman (Jack Moss). a Turkish police chief (Welles) puts the panicked American onto a tramp steamer crossing the Black Sea between Istanbul and Georgia, but the enemy agents follow him aboard, stalking out his movements. 

Directing credit is given to Norman Foster, but the Welles touch is ever present, especially in the sumptuous ennui of an early scene set within an Istanbul nightclub. Cotten also wrote the script, adapting it from Eric Ambler’s novel, giving him his only screenwriting credit. The film itself ultimately plays not as well as it could, and often drags despite its brief 68-minute run time. still, fans of Welles’ early work, or of exotic film noirs such as The Mask of Demitrios or The Shanghai Gesture, will most likely want to check it out. 

Junior Bonner (1972) – another minor entry in the careers of all involved, Sam Peckinpah’s first team up with Steve McQueen displays a family of rodeo riders approaching the end of their era. Favorite son J.R. (McQueen) is a former but unbowed bull riding champion in the mold of his legendary father Ace (Robert Preston), while younger brother Curly (Joe Don Baker) has plans to convert the family ranch into a housing community. Ace, long past any of his primes, has plans to mine for silver in Australia, even though matriarch Elvira (Ida Lupino) has left him in frustration and impatience. 

Peckinpah works the films themes of family loyalty and encroaching commercialization of the West so subtly it’s sometimes hard to see the text for the implied subtext. The director never seems to nail the pace or the texture of Jeb Rosebrook’s relaxed screenplay, with an unfortunate lack of drama left for the audience to absorb. In the end, the payoff with its too-pat conclusion and treacly sentimentality feels almost smug. Preston and Lupino are both wonderful, however, giving lived-in and understated performances. 

Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip (1982) – Representing something of a comeback following his well-publicized self-immolation, this concert film shows Pryor actually and triumphantly at the height of his legendary craft. Merging his observational humor with a series of one-man, one-act character performances, his monologues and diatribes – always funny and acerbic, but often surprisingly reflective and melancholy, as well – show the comic’s gift for understanding human nature. 

Pryor’s legacy has been over-simplified by modern audiences, who too often remember his scathing vulgarity but not the smart rhythmic and observational purposes lying within it. seeing this film again reminds us of his versatility, including his gift for nuanced and intelligent storytelling. In Country (1989) – Adapted from Bobbie Ann Mason’s period-classic novel, Norman Jewison’s disappointing film nevertheless contains several impressive performances but gets hampered by a miscast lead and TV movie-of-the-week pacing and texture. Kentucky teenager Samantha Hughes (Emily Lloyd) longs to connect with the memory of her father, a soldier killed in Vietnam years before. all the men of her town, including her roommate and uncle Emmett (Bruce Willis), bear scars psychic and physical from their war service but won’t discuss them. her mother (Joan Allen) isn’t talking either, especially since Emmett’s behavior grows increasingly erratic by the day. 

Arriving near the end of the decade’s brief mania for Vietnam reconciliation, the movie skims the surface of its material thanks to often clumsy pacing and a weird mid-plot set piece that goes nowhere. Willis gained serious critical notice for his subdued turn as the war-scarred loner, yet the film rises and falls on Lloyd’s coming-of-age performance. Unfortunately she’s too earnest by half, and seems distanced and at times uninterested in the story’s setting and context. The novel was a good read that deserved better. 

The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946) – Author James M. Cain’s thriller novels provided the source material for a trio of classic film noirs, including Double Indemnity, Mildred Pierce and this slow burning erotica starring James Garfield and Lana Turner. Garfield’s the drifter who falls to the elusive charms of the unhappily married Turner, and the two conspire to kill her husband (Cecil Kellaway) to gain control of the roadside diner he’s managed with cold-hearted miserliness. Of course the murder doesn’t go as planned, and a shrewd district attorney (Leon Ames) begins circling the doomed lovers. 

Director Tay Garnett (Bataan) can’t match the edgy cynicism of Billy Wilder’s spin on Double Indemnity or Curtiz’s posh, jaded take on Mildred Pierce. As a result the film walks when it could saunter, with an undercooked and procedural pace that sometimes works against the palpable chemistry of its stars. Ames, who judging by his filmography didn’t sleep in the late 1940s, is reliably upright as the DA who knows something is up; more entertaining still is Hume Cronyn, playing against his screen image as a shifty, amoral defense attorney who masterminds his clients’ acquittals despite them. Overall, however, it’s themes and barely restrained sexuality make it archetypal film noir, among the best examples of its genre.

“Haven,” a new series premiering Friday on Syfy, is like the Syfy series “Eureka” in that it concerns a small piney town populated by the abnormally gifted. and it is like the Syfy series “Warehouse 13″ in that it is like “The X-Files,” setting two good-looking officers of the law — male and female, local cop and federal agent — against otherworldly phenomena. she is open to the supernatural; he has a condition that makes it impossible for him to feel pain. She’s an orphan, he has father issues. I smell love.

That it is based on a 2005 Stephen King novella, “The Colorado Kid,” gives the series a certain genre authority, but it has so little to do with the book — a kind of arty, open-ended detective story, King in a Paul Auster mood — that its origin is really beside the point. (It isn’t even in the same genre; the series involves the supernatural, the novella does not.) more to the point is that several of the hands who crafted the TV version also worked on USA’s adaptation of “The Dead Zone” (also from a King novel).

Viewers sad about the end of “Happy Town” and looking for another creepy municipal drama filmed in Canada may find this a port in the storm, though it is more cheaply appointed and less spectacularly cast. Still, it would be pointless to attack the show for not achieving things that are beyond its ambitions. It wants to scare you a little, and to amuse you a little more. if, in the first respect, it’s no “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” perhaps it’s “The Brain From Planet Arous,” and that film scared me plenty when I was a kid — though, truth to tell, I did scare easy. To the second point, the conversation between the leads wears a big sign marked “banter,” but the actors are easy to be around. It’s all right; it’s not bad.

Emily Rose (“Brothers & Sisters,” “John From Cincinnati”) is Audrey Parker, FBI, who comes to Haven — up in King’s Maine country — in search of an escaped prisoner. she is greeted by a sudden crack in the road, a road one might think was deliberately trying to… but no, that’s impossible. Det. Nathan Wournos (Lucas Bryant) helpfully keeps her from going over a cliff, though I’m afraid he cannot save the rental car.

Rose seems a little soft for the role, but given that this is not, like, the real FBI, just the pretend TV kind, it doesn’t matter much, and Bryant has an interesting, likable dryness. Eric Balfour, who does seem to pop up all over, plays Duke, a charming rapscallion who lives on a boat and gets Nathan’s goat; he gets most of the best lines as well, or makes it seem that way. There is also a pair of quirky newsmen, central figures in the King novella but just expository comedy relief here; they produce the mysterious old photograph that will lead to Audrey sticking around town for another 12 episodes, at least.

The Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement to sign sharpshooting free agent Kyle Korver, according to sources close to the situation.

Sources told ESPN.com that Korver, formerly of the Utah Jazz, will sign a three-year deal worth an estimated $15 million.

Korver will become the Bulls’ second significant free-agent acquisition, along with former Utah teammate Carlos Boozer, to sign with Chicago after the Bulls’ unsuccessful pursuit of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

“Kyle can shoot the heck out of the ball,” Boozer, speaking on “The Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN 1000 on Thursday, said of his former teammate with the Jazz. “He’s 6-7, 6-8 with real size and can shoot the ball. In practice he doesn’t miss many shots, and then in games when he’s on, he’s as good as anybody.”

Korver was the NBA’s foremost 3-point shooter last season at 53.6 percent, averaging 7.2 points for the Jazz in 52 games.

He fills a huge need for Chicago, which has lacked a floor-stretching complement to Derrick Rose. the 6-7 swingman also arrives with the experience of playing off Boozer’s presence in the low post.

Cox Communication and the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children ( NCMEC) conducted their 5th National Teen Summit on online safety issues on June 15th in Washington , D.C.. The initiative gathered teens from across the country to discuss issues on Internet Safety like cyberbulling, sexting and the potential long-term impact of social media posts on the teen’s digital reputation.

For the first time , Cox streamed the Teen Summit live over the Internet which encouraged online participants such as child advocates and mother bloggers to listen to the discussion by logging on to ustream.tv/channel/coxteensummit or by joining the dialogue on Twitter using the hash tag #cox4teensafety . “ America’s Most Wanted” host and children’s advocate John Walsh led the discussion at the event and was joined by guest panellist and well-known social media expert James Andrews. In conjunction with the Summit , Cox and NCMEC  released the results of their annual survey during the event that showcased the key changes and trends in the online behaviour of teens over the past five years. The last survey paid particular interest to teen’s comprehension of the potential long-term consequences of social media communications for their digital reputation. The outcome of the pilot survey was that more than 80 percent of the teens believe that what they post online can affect their personal reputation. Inspite this , teens engage themselves in risky behaviour online. for instance , 50 percent of those surveyed said that they have posted a fake age online and 38 percent share their social networks with people who are unknown to them.

This initiative of The National Teen Summit on online safety issues is a natural extension of Cox Communication’s  ‘ take Charge !’ initiative which helps not only the kids and teens but also their parents and guardians to make smarter media decisions. Cox provides guidelines to parents and guardians on how to manage what their children see and don’t see on the television and the internet. these guidelines include instructions and information on setting parental controls as well as tips for more constructive conversations between parents and their children.

Get off prime time TV, Obama. You don’t have a corkscrew to plug the oil well. You’re just pandering for ratings. who is paying for prime time anyway? My guess, we the people, one way or the other.

I would like to know why people are giving Parker Griffith down the road all the time for changing parties. It’s like he’s some kind of Benedict Arnold or something. He had sense enough to get out of what he knew was wrong. He got into something, found out they were dirty and crooked, so he got out of it. anybody with a brain does that. He was the most sensible person running. He had sense enough to get out.

All of the people that’s looking for fresh seafood, go to Maine, go somewhere else besides down where the oil spill is. get your food up where it’s cold weather and you ain’t going to have to worry about that. I don’t want to see the gas prices go up because somebody makes some kind of ignorant mistake and blew up and killed a bunch of innocent people and didn’t do what they were supposed to do. It’s called OSHA overseeing the project – it didn’t happen.

Someone should inform the Florence City Council that they shouldn’t play together because they sure can’t get along with each other.

I have had family and friends to stay at the former Holiday Inn on several occasions. All the employees were very nice, friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. Shame on you … for reducing the salaries for this tremendous group of people who will be running your business for you.

Just two quick comments on the BP issue. Don’t get mortal man confused. Only God can cut that spigot off and everybody deep down knows that, so quit trying to place blame. The other item – the fellow wondering who would put BP gas in their car. we all better be. They’ve got to pay for it. keep them propped up.

This is in response to the person who left the comment about getting her grandson some fries at a fast food restaurant and the too much salt. You can request no salt on your fries and they will fix you some fresh ones. That’s what we do because we don’t eat a lot of salt.

The constitutional duty to defend us against enemies foreign and domestic has no relation to the tragic accident in the Gulf. I’m amazed and disappointed in the countless misuse of this mandate.

I’m calling about BP. I will continue buying gas from BP because if BP goes under, where is the money going to come from to clean up all of this oil mess around our Gulf Shores?

Oil? I thought they said we had an oil shortage and need to get a pipeline started in Alaska. Huh. Looks like somebody lied. We’ve got plenty of oil right here.

Suggestion: for those people who let left-out garbage cans bug them, do like I do. take a few seconds and pull their cans back to the house for them. Solve the problem.

If the politicians in Muscle Shoals was worth their salt, they would have already had Wilson Dam Road four-laned to Highway 72. But they’re not; they’re just politicians. nothing else.

I’ve been reading all of these little stupid, nit-picky stuff in the paper about picking up your garbage cans and stuff. Tell you what, they’re ain’t nothing worse in the world than a nosy neighbor. And just for that fact, I’m going to take my garbage can to the road today and wait until Tuesday before I pick it up.

This is for all the Alabama State Troopers out there that’s driving 45 mph in the left lane on U.S. 72. You’re impeding traffic. get in the right lane.

PARIS – Police raided the offices of the financial advisor to the richest woman in France on Friday as part of a growing scandal that includes allegations that it illegally gave money to the presidential campaign Nicolas Sarkozy.Three police vans arrived at the headquarters of Patrice de Maistre, Chief Financial Advisor L’Oreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt. They isolate the modern building in the suburb of Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine where Sarkozy was mayor of the length, and officers came and went.
